Another chapter in the political life of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has begun as we take the lead in the new governance and administration of the autonomous region as mandated by law.
As Acting Regional Governor, I am fully aware that I am now accountable to the national government and to the constituents of this region. I am determined to exercise those powers and authorities expressly granted to me by RA 9054 for the proper governance and development of the autonomous region.

JOLO, Sulu – A Muslim legislator is urging the new leadership to address the Mindanao problem squarely and sincerely and must be a priority of the Aquino administration in national policy formulation and program implementation.
Rep. Habib Tupay T. Loong (1st District, Sulu) urged President Aquino to initiate measures to mitigate the recurring armed hostilities in Mindanao within the first year of his term.

TABUAN LASA, Basilan (PNA) – The more than 25,000 residents of this newly-created municipality will soon have electricity.
This developed after the Department of Energy (DoE), through the Basilan Electric Cooperative (Baselco), started the implementation of a P9.2 million electrification project here.
“The DoE has contracted Baselco to undertake the electrification project, being the sole electric distributor of the province,” Mayor Muctar Junaid said.

COTABATO CITY – The government of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) is pushing for the intensified implementation of PhilHealth coverage in all its component provinces and cities, especially among their less fortunate constituents.
ARMM Executive Secretary Naguib Sinarimbo said the regional Cabinet in its regular meeting here on August 10 passed two resolutions

BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi – The provincial government of Tawi-Tawi expressed readiness in hosting the forthcoming 9th Seaweed Festival this year and expressed guarantee that it would be better and expected to exceed the events in previous years due to extensive preparations being undertaken by the local government.
Tawi-Tawi Gov. Sadikul Sahali day said this year’s seaweed festival is now a part of the celebration of the 37th founding anniversary of the province dubbed “Kamahardikaan Tawi-Tawi” slated from September 25 to 27 this year.
