As part of Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) efforts to help the affected families in the Zamboanga standoff, a relief mission is conducted this Thursday, September 19, 2013. This mission provided food packs, hygiene kits and protection kits like blankets and mosquito nets. It also provided free medical services such as medical check-ups and immunization. The mission is led by DSWD-ARMM Assistant Secretary for Operations, Bai Rahima Alba Datumanong and DOH-ARMM Assistant Secretary, Dayang Carlsum Jumaide.
The relief mission is in line with the ARMM Humanitarian Emergency Action and Response Team (ARMM- HEART) Operation, which was already launched earlier. The medical services team included twenty (20) physicians and nurses from Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO)-Lanao del Sur and led by their Chief Dr. Alinader Minalang. Roughly about 250 displaced families have benefited and happily received medical supplies during the visit at Sitio Logoy Grande, particularly in the village of Baranggay Talon-talon, Zamboanga City.
