In sympathy to the ongoing crisis at Zamboanga City, officials and employees of the ARMM, lit up candles after offering prayers for the safety and peace held last Friday, September 13, 2013 at ARMM Complex, Cotabato City. The safety of the people of Zamboanga City is a prime concern for the reason that many of the employees in the ARMM have relatives and families living on the said city. The prayers included, among others, the call for peace and harmony between the military forces and the rogue armed group so as to save more civilian lives rather than put them in danger.
The ARMM government also sent four truckloads of food and non-food aids as assistance to the evacuees and displaced families in Zamboanga City. The aim of this is to prevent hunger and maintain sanitation among the victims of the conflict. Aside from this, Regional Governor Hataman also ordered the ARMM emergency team to address the needs of displaced families and tasked the Department of Health to organize a medical team to assist the medical and sanitary needs of these victims. >ICTO xanrise
