Three truckloads of non-food items has been sent by the ARMM government to Zamboanga City targeting to provide and help more than 10, 000 individuals displaced by the on-going conflict between the military and the rogue armed group. These relief items include among others, hygiene packs, cooking utensils, mosquito nets, sleeping mats and buckets. About 2, 000 food packs have been sent earlier and were distributed to at least four villages in the said city.Regional Governor Hataman said the relief goods will be distributed in coordination with the local Crisis Management Committee (CMC) chaired by Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.
The relief goods arrived in Zamboanga City on Sunday evening and its the second batch of assistance provided by the ARMM government to the thousands of people displaced by the standoff. The Department of Social Welfare and Development records showed that 62,329 people were displaced by the ongoing standoff. >ICTO xanrise
